The trailer starts resembling a collage advertisement talking to the audience making them feel involved especially for children who learn a lot from interactive programs. As well as this its comedic as they have the awkward sounding kids reading out scripted lines around the campus.
By introducing the Disney and Pixar logo they are reminding people of all past work that is associated with their company. From this people will be encouraged to go see the film based on Disney's long history of success. A typical depiction of college life is show with monsters raving to music in football jackets. In the hall monsters are seen wrecking things and swinging from furniture. Its very fast pace and colourful keeping it's interesting. Mike's dream in the trailer is to be a scarer, we see him walking through campus with a giant monster next to him. This makes him appear out of his depth and makes us doubt the possibility of him becoming a scarer.
Mike and Sulley and now seen competing to be the best scarer, the trailer is still presenting Mike to be little and weak by showing him from a high angel perspective making us look down on him. We are then introduced to the 'scare games' by a pair of stereotypical students one being the jock and the other a gothic girl with a bad attitude. All there personalities are suggested by the way they look making it more appealing for young kids as they it's not a complex film to follow. We are introduced to Helen Mirren's voice, another famous actor with a distinct voice.
